"Save the earth' signature drive begins tomorrow"
A CAMPAIGN to get Tanjong Pagar, Aljunied, Brickworks and Toa Payoh residents to pledge their commitment to save the Earth begins tomorrow.
Residents can make pledges by signing their names on posters which carry a pledge "to help make the Earth a secure and hospitable home".
After the campaign is launched by the Tanjong Pagar Town Council, residents can put their words into action by taking part in the waste recycling project in their towns.
Special bins will be placed in all the participating estates to collect unwanted paper and cans for recycling.
The Tanjong Pagar Town Council is extending the recycling project, now available at Telok Blangah and Giliman Heights, to 20 blocks in Spottiswoode Park, Bukit Purmei and Kim Tian estates.
The project is held in conjunction with the Earth Summit in Brazil.
