Shoppers lend a hand in paper recycling
By Katherine Ho
After some initial confusion, the paper recycling campaign at the new shopping complex, Alpha Angle, is now under way.
Some enthusiastic Wangsa Maju residents surprised the management of the complex by bringing their old newspapers prior to the launch.
Luckily, for shoppers like Mr and Mrs S. M. Phang and their three daughters who came yesterday, a bin was ready outside the entrance of the complex.
Puan Sheriffah Khamseah, who came to drop off some newspapers, hopes that other members of the public will come forward to do their bit.
"We are actually helping the future generation in making Malaysia an industrialized and developed country which is both healthy and safe."
Alpha Angle’s complex manager, Encik Ramli Idris, said that all Jaya Jusco stores were located in suburban areas, so it was only natural that we want to work with the community in doing something for the environment.
"We are delighted that we can work together with our shoppers and The Star on the campaign as our company already has an existing greening policy."
Under its greening policy, Alpha Angle has 12,000 trees planted in the compound.
