RM$25,000 boost to 'green' fun run
THE Larian Hijau got a RM25,000 boost from BP Malaysia including 5,000 unleaded petrol vouchers worth RM10 each yesterday.
Science, Technology and Environment Minister Datuk Law Hieng Ding received a mock cheque and entry forms from BP Malaysia commercial director Lim Kee Tiang.
"We hope that through the Larian Hijau's fun run and fancy dress events, we can promote greater awareness of the environment among Malaysians, "said Law.
The run on Jan 30 is divided into the fun run and fancy dress categories and is opened to individuals, schoolchildren, families and organisations.
The entrance fee for both categories is RM5 each while schoolchildren pay RM3 each.
Registration forms are available at the Federal Territory Amateur Athletic Association’s (FTAAA) office at Stadium Negara and all BP outlets in the Klang Valley. They should reach the FTAAA before Jan 15.
Larian Hijau is organised by the Ministry, The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Sistem Televisyen (M) Bhd and FTAAA.
Other sponsors
Besides BP Malaysia, its sponsors are Milo and Coleman.
TV3 will televise the run ‘live’. It will be flagged off by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Azlan Shah at Dataran Merdeka. The run will end at Taman Tasik Perdana.
