Planet Earth Week at Science Centre
ONE place students should make a bee-line for these holidays is the National Science Centre, which has lined up a great programme of activities for this week.
Starting yesterday and running until June 3, the centre is holding Planet Earth Week, with the theme "Discover and Save our Planet Earth".
This is part of the on-going Science Enrichment Programme, which first started in 1998 and has different themes every year. Each year, the activities revolve around four main themes, Air, Water, Natural Resources and Food, with this year’s programme being a little different in that all four themes are being held simultaneously.
Lots of fun and educational activities are lined up for the week, including paper making, how air pollution is monitored, a hot air balloon, panning for gold, mushroom planting, stargazing, a kite-making contest, ‘love your animals’, analysing a pond’s ecosystem and lots more.
Visitors who would like to participate in these activities need to register at the booth in the Annex of the front of the building. Activity stations, where the demonstrations and experiments take place, are located at the Annex, Atrium and Educational Landscape.
The National Science Centre is located at Jalan Persiaran Bukit Kiara, Bukit Kiara. It is open from 9am to 5pm and is closed on Fridays.
